Game Of Thrones Book Series Order

( music playing ) jon: it's as if i went to sleep for a year and when i woke up,the world's fallen apart. there is a tremendous clamor for revenge,

Game Of Thrones Book Series Order

Game Of Thrones Book Series Order, especially in the wake of the red wedding. gwendoline christie: catelyn stark's death, richard madden, and oona chaplin, that moment,

i knew it was coming and it killed-- it ripped me up inside. i cried. i actually shed a tear at that. yeah, i shed a tear. the performances were extraordinary

and it was very emotional to do. it's sort of where do you go from there? some of the most shockingand mind-blowing scenes of the entire seriescome at the end of thiscoming season. some very bloodyconfrontations. i know how importantthe red wedding is to so many fans of the showand the books.

but we pick up the piecesand top it in many ways. benioff: this is definitely the most dangerous season for tyrion. it seems like almost everyepisode, he's in jeopardy of getting his head removedfrom his shoulders. tyrion has never beenfaced with this muchpublic humiliation because he usuallyhas an answer for it. i've talked myselfout of a thousand darkcorners, podrick. i don't think i'm talkingmy way out of this one. dinklage: he's usually center stage

and he usually is better at itthan the people around him. this time around, he's leftas an audience member. i'm guiltyof being a dwarf. lena headey: there's no boundary with her and tyrion of inflicting emotional damage. she's quite happyto do it. you've always pitied him,our poor little brother. he'd kill us allif he could.

tyrion and jaimedefinitely have a love that tyrion doesn't havewith the other membersof his family. and he helps tyriona great deal this season. careful, i'm the lastfriend you've got. my favorite character is bronn, jerome flynn. i really like cersei because she's justa fantastic character. and even thougheveryone hates her,

you kind of loveto hate her. jaime lannister. he's complex. the thing that nikolaj has is this incredible charisma. he was bornto play that part. oberyn martell is the one wild card. i would describe oberyn

as a deeply passionate person. i think that he's very, very dangerous, but he's also good. benioff: i think oberyn's feelings for the lannisters go beyond disdainand into hatred. why did you cometo king's landing, prince oberyn? i was invitedto the royal wedding. the lannisters aren't the onlyones who pay their debts. d.b. weiss: he uses the invitation to the wedding

to come and seek out what he really wants, and that is vengeance. joffrey?joffrey's a wee prick. a mommy's boy, a bully. ( sighs )he's got nice eyes. um... ( laughs ) i feel like jack the actor

has an abundanceof redeeming qualities. i feel like joffreythe character... less so. he kind of always sits, like, squiffy on his chair. he's always pickingat the handle. and he's like,"i am the king!" joffrey, i mean, clearly the last person on earth you would want

to have any kind of power. i broke stannison the blackwater. pity you weren't thereto help, uncle. my apologies, your grace.i was rather busy. busy getting captured. it's the best fun to play such a hateful or hate-inspiring character.

just to get the reactionout of someone is very satisfying. it's nice to makepeople hate you. a royal weddingis history. time has comefor us all to contemplateour history. benioff: in terms of the challenge of the wedding, it's the entirety of it.it's the totality of a massive scenewhich takes up abouthalf the episode.

it was like shooting a short film in itself, actually. i'm shockedby the sheer scale. i really have neverseen anything like that in"game of thrones" before. i would find it very hard that i would have a wedding ceremony replicated like that againin my career. gleeson: it was majestic. it was shimmering.

and it justlooked pristine. i think that'swhat joffrey likes. he likes somethingostentatious and grand. bradley: the great thing about this show is they like to put you into atmospheresand into environments that conjure upcertain feelings inside of you when you're playingthe scenes out. your imaginationis kind of fueled.it's all there.

my throne room is a minitropical version of a westeros throne room. that set is unbelievable. i walked inand was, like, openmouthedfor a good 10 minutes. jacob anderson: very intimidating. emilia is lovely, but i can't look up. i mean, is kind of frightening. she's exploring what kindof a leader she can be. how can i ruleseven kingdoms

if i can't controla single city? the cities that danyhas previously liberated are beginning to revolt because it's allwell and good going in and cutting the tieand seemingly breakingpeople free, but if you don't leave themwith any kind of a structure or any kind ofa commander who shares the samemorals and views as the personwho liberated them, then it's a free-for-all.

they can livein my new world or they can diein their old one. when the dragonswere first born, they were adorablelittle babies and completely devotedto their mother and they couldn't eveneat without her. ( screeches ) with each seasonthey grow, and with each seasonthey become a little bitmore dangerous.

( shrieks ) and nowthey're at the point wherethey're not babies anymore. they are outgrowingthe restrictions that she's placing on them.she's always feared it. i mean, for goodness' sake, they're dragons. they've killed her enemies.what's gonna stop them from killing anyone? because they're dragonsin a non-dragon world. they're dragons, khaleesi.

they can neverbe tamed. i think it's kind ofa symbol of her losingcontrol of herself and losing controlof what she's doing. the thing that i gotmost excited about is jon is not the same manfrom season to season. there's too muchthat's happened to him. too much that's gone onand that he's had to learn from. when we find himin season four, he's in a very bad place

as far as how he feelshe treated ygritte and his honorbecause of that. not only breaking his vowsto the night's watch, but for breakinghis vows to her. he's in a lose-loseposition, really. but he has to make good. you've donenothing wrong. i've done plenty wrong. bradley: he's reunited with sam, which is a good thing.

but theirrelationship's changed. sam and jon's relationshipthis year is as even and equalas it's ever been. harington: there's more confrontation between them this season. your wildling girl, she's one of the raiders. - she's not my girl.- but she was, wasn't she? it's a very differentrelationship they findthemselves in, but still a loving oneand still a caring one. and i think without sam,jon would crumble.

oh, that's an easy one and it involves prosthetics. there's a big man. go back and findyour clothes, hodor. one of the most terrifyingthings i've ever had to do was the opening shotof season three. they wanted to getthis feeling of somethingbeing behind sam, or something in pursuitof sam. so they decided the onlyway to achieve that effect

was to chase me on a quad bikethrough the snow. and they had a guyrunning alongside saying, "the only reasoni'm here is if you fall over, i'll get the quad biketo stop." i went,"thanks very much. i don't know what they're payingyou, but it's not enough." sometimes greeting cgi wolvesis a strange experience. it's just a big green sausagedummy shoved in your face and you have to treat itas if it's your lifelong pet

and love it to bits.it's very odd. the most weird thingi've had to do this season is to bite offa man's ear and spit it in his face. first time i walkedinto the castle black set, i thought,"oh, my god." because until you stepinto it physically, when it comes out of your headand into the real world, it sends chillsdown your spine, really.

chopping up theon greyjoy's companion was probably quite omg. when i read that,i was like, "whoa, really?" every day on this show is an omg moment, really, because there's always surprises in it. you're always ina really cool location

or you've got a great propor the set is incredible. anderson: the thing that's amazing about the places we shoot is you just don't knowwhat to expect. so you turn upand you're like, "wow. this is so much grander than i could have expectedor could have ever imagined." the biggest omg momentis when you think you'renearly finished and then you've gotfive hours to go. well, nikolaj and itried to do a dance number

walking down the stepsof the court. we thought it was funand the extras were all laughingand dancing. but the crewwas really tired and i don't thinkthey responded. and then we just heardfrom the ad, "still rolling.reset." turner: whenever maisie's around, there's usually a lotof sleepovers

and we do a lotof knock-and-runs on people's hotel doors. you know, you'd seedame diana rigg playing backgammonwith daniel portman and see lena givinga message to someone and everyone's just chattingand joking around. and that's a reallynice moment. everyone else getsthe badass quotes. i think the best quotesare bronn's quotes.

any line he hasis witty and intelligentand hilarious. you don't fightwith honor. - he says, "no..."- he did. hmm. okay, well, there was that scenewhere he said, "hodor." hodor. hodor.hodor. that was definitelya badass one. i think it would be when ygritte's headis on that rock. "strike hard and true, jon snow."

or i'll come backand haunt you. that was a great line. well, there's onethis year when she'stalking about nothing. maybe nothingis worse than this. nothing isn't betteror worse than anything. nothingis just nothing. williams: i think that makes you really think about all the differentcharacters and it kind of putsthings into perspective. oh, "dracarys."

dracarys. ( screaming ) definitely.i believe that's probablythe most badass quote. i think maester luwin. he was very mucha father figure for bran. and to not have him,i think, is probablya disadvantage to bran. that'd be robband catelyn. so hard.

the big one that set the whole tone for "game of thrones" being known for a showwhere no one is safe was ned stark. and that completelyshocked me. action! benioff: i think, as in previous seasons, there is a build. i think what makesthis season different is that things really getgoing much more quickly.

it's more thrillingthroughout than season three was. weiss: there's definitely objectively more action. and there are an awful lotof things on the production frontthat we're never done before. everyone's kind of nowloading the guns, loading the arrows, sharpening their knives and it's just ripe. it's not building towardsone specific climactic event.

there are moreclimactic events in season four than therehave ever been before. every season up until now has been-- episode nine hasbeen the big episode. season fouris just very steady. the stakes are higherthroughout the season than theyhave been before. this season, the storyjust gets more intense. there's some really juicy, mental storylines.

( laughs )and it's just really exciting. the button's pressedand the accelerator is firmly to the floor here.there's a lot of action. the good guysare coming back this year. and that's nice to see.yeah, we're making a stand. we hope people, when theycome out of this season, will feel that the impactof the season as a whole would be evengreater than the impactof the previous season. there are so many qualityshows on television

that i love and admire, but i don't thinkthere's one with the scale of "game of thrones" in termsof the size of the cast, in terms of numberof countries we shoot in, and, you know, who else has dragons, really?( laughs )
